Retention and Recall of Lexicon Using Semantic Maps

چکیده
Semantic maps ensure a high potential to facilitate enhanced quality of understanding words. ESL students are often presented with new English vocabulary items that many times pre-organized in sets semantically related Although there is an assumption word grouping facilitates the activities for learning, little or no empirical justification offered by researchers support employing this teaching technique. This study aims examine what extent semantic relatedness influences recall and retention middle school Telangana. The current was conducted 30 seventh grade who were divided into two groups compare effects presenting wordlists reading comprehension activities. results reveal both strategies have positive on retention. Between these mapping found yield better recall. difference between can be explained from perspective information process theory memory model. Significant learning effectiveness experiment group.
